Welcome to the Office of the Sergeant-At-Arms
The Office of the Sergeant at Arms is a very old institution in legislative bodies around the world. In Vermont, the Sergeant at Arms is responsible for the State House building and all that goes on within it. The Sergeant-At-Arms' office is responsible for assigning meeting rooms, maintaining order, operating the mail room and the legislative page program, and much more. He is also responsible for securing the building; the doorkeepers and the Capitol Police Department are part of the Sergeant-At-Arms' office.
